We will have an "end of the summer celebration" for all that want to attend. All of us at Frankston Church Of Christ want to say thanks for all the hard work and studying all the students and teachers and parents do to get our students educated. We will have hot dogs and fixings on August the 10th. 11-2 Come join us.

Obituary for LaRue Ashley LaRue Ashley, age 104, passed away on June 9, 2019. Mrs. Ashley was born on February 27, 1915 in Jewett, Texas to Julian and Mattie (Wood) Breedlove. She was a member of Frankston Church of Christ and Lake Palestine Quilting Club. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther H. Ashley; son, John Ashley and twin girls. Left to cherish her memory are her three grandchildren, Blaine Ashley and wife Diana of Cambridge, VT, Angela Dione and husband David of Blocton, AL, Amy Ashley of Plano; and dear friend, Rae Roberson of Palestine. She is also survived by five great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with LaRue’s family from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2019 at White Rock Cemetery in Elmott, Texas. Don Canter and Larry Smith will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Frankston. All of us here at Frankston Church of Christ will miss LaRue and continue to encourage Rae Robinson. Thank you Rae for caring for LaRue.

“In Christ” There are some people who are very good at giving directions—they can tell you where something is and how to get there. Thankfully, we have a God who is willing to give us directions. When He tells us where something is and how to get there (especially the most important directions of all, which concern the salvation of our souls), we can be confident that His Word will be precise and understandable. Let us observe how clear God’s directions are. First, God tells us where we must be to be saved! The Bible teaches that “all spiritual blessings are IN CHRIST” (Eph. 1:3). What are those “spiritual blessings”? Are they all that important? Let us consider a few: · In Christ is “redemption through His blood” (Eph. 1:7). · In Christ is “the forgiveness of sins” (Eph. 1:7). · In Christ is “an inheritance” (Eph. 1:11). · In Christ is “no condemnation” (Rom. 8:1). · In Christ is “sanctification” (1 Cor. 1:2). · In Christ is “hope” (1 Cor. 15:19). · In Christ are “all the promises of God” (2 Cor. 1:20). · In Christ is “a new creation” (2 Cor. 5:17). · In Christ is “grace” (2 Tim. 2:1). · In Christ is “eternal life” (1 John 5:11). · In Christ is “salvation” (2 Tim. 2:10). Think about this list. Realize that it is not even all of the spiritual blessings found in Scripture. Ask yourself, “Do I need to be ‘in Christ’?” Second, God tells us what is not “in Christ.” By implication, we know that those who are outside of Christ have no redemption, no forgiveness of sins, no inheritance, no sanctification, no hope, no promises of God, grace, no eternal life or salvation. In fact, they all have condemnation, for they are not a new creation in Christ. Think about the list from this perspective of being outside of Christ. Ask yourself again, “Do I need to be ‘in Christ’?” Absolutely! But, how? Third, God tells us how to get “into Christ.” Thankfully, God’s directions are precise and understandable. “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Gal. 3:27; see also Rom. 6:3). Those two verses emphatically teach that baptism is the only way INTO CHRIST. Before baptism, one is outside of Christ and deficient of EVERY spiritual blessing. Only when a penitent believer is baptized does he move from being outside of Christ to now being “in Christ,” wherein are all spiritual blessings, including salvation. Ask yourself, “Am I ‘in Christ’?” If not, today can be the day! With brotherly love, Larry
